Privacy Policy

May 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Orah Bible collects, uses and protects your personal information. By using our service, you agree to the practices described in this document.

1. Who We Are

Orah Bible is a Bible reading and study application developed by Dokse Labs. Our services are available on the web (orahbible.com) and on mobile apps for iOS and Android.

2. Data We Collect

Account data: when you create an account, we collect your email address and name. Google OAuth login only collects basic Google profile information (name and email).

Usage data: we collect and store your reading history, highlights, bookmarks, notes, reading plans, reading streak, and reader settings for cross-device synchronization.

Payment data: premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card data on our servers. Stripe applies its own security and privacy standards.

Data without an account: users without an account have their data stored exclusively on the device (localStorage/AsyncStorage). No data is sent to our servers.

Technical data: we automatically collect information such as IP address, device type, operating system, app version and device identifier. This information is used exclusively for diagnostics, troubleshooting and aggregated usage analysis.

3. Use of Data

Your data is used solely to:

  • Provide and sync app features across devices
  • Process subscriptions and manage access to premium features
  • Improve the service in an aggregated and anonymous manner

We may use collective and non-identified data for internal analysis, usage statistics and continuous service improvement. We never sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

Supabase: used for secure storage of authenticated user data. Data is stored on servers in the United States. Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy.

Google Gemini: selected verse text is sent to Google Gemini to generate theological and historical explanations. No personally identifiable data is included in these requests.

Google OAuth: enables login with a Google account. We only collect the name and email provided by Google for account creation.

Stripe: processes premium subscription payments. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy (stripe.com/privacy).

5. Artificial Intelligence

We use Google Gemini to generate biblical explanations. The selected verse text is sent for processing; no personally identifiable data is transmitted. Data sent to Gemini is not used to train Orah Bible's models. Decisions that may significantly affect you are not made exclusively by automated systems. You have the right to request information about how our AI processes work and to request limitations on the use of your data in this context.

6. Sensitive Religious Data

Use of Orah Bible does not imply any specific religious affiliation. We do not require you to provide information about your religious beliefs to use the service. To the extent that use of a Bible app may be considered sensitive religious belief data, we process this information solely to provide the requested service, based on your express consent when accepting this policy.

7. Storage and Security

Data is stored securely with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Local data is kept in the browser's localStorage or the mobile device's AsyncStorage. We adopt technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access.

8. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all synced data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Data in backups may remain for up to an additional 90 days before definitive deletion.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data
  • Request anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary data
  • Request portability of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interest
  • Request information about automated AI processes that affect you

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at dokselabs@gmail.com. We will respond within 15 days.

10. Cookies and Local Storage

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We only use essential local storage to maintain your preferences and session data required for the service to function.

11. Legal Process

We may disclose your personal information when required by law, court order or request from a competent authority. We may also disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with legal obligations; (b) protect the security or integrity of the service; (c) investigate fraud or illegal activities; (d) protect the rights, property or safety of Dokse Labs, our users or third parties.

12. Minors

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not intentionally collect data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor without adequate parental consent, we will remove that information immediately.

13. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country (primarily in the United States), in accordance with applicable legal bases for international data transfers.

14. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by email or in-app notice at least 15 days in advance. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new version.
